Led by Daniel Kunantaev?s 71, Hillsboro placed third at the Southeast of Saline regional Monday to qualify for the Class 3A state tournament May 26 at Tallgrass Country Club in Wichita.
The Trojans (339) placed three strokes behind second-place Halstead, but trailed champion Wichita Collegiate (296) by a wide margin.
Jacob Kenny (87), Daniel Dick (89) and Jared King (92) rounded out Hillsboro?s top four. Devin Dick shot 97 and Evan Just 104.
Marion placed first at Monday?s Herington regional with a team score of 345. Luke Gordon (79) posted the best score of the day, and was supported by Landon Leiker (83), Scott Jones (90) and Niklas Bronnert (93). Lindsay Hett shot 96 and Ryan Jones shot 98.
