Heartland Foods store in Hillsboro to close

Less than a year after acquiring the former Vogts HomeTown Market in Hillsboro, Heartland Foods will be closing its doors at the end of the calendar year.

?We are closing Dec. 31 at end of day if not sooner,? said Paul Barnes, store manager and an ownership partner in the Heart?land Foods company, in reply to an email inquiry. ?There is really nothing else to discuss.?

The sale of the Vogts store to Heartland became official Feb. 3 of this year. At the time, the acquisition of the store gave Heart?land Foods seven stores in Kansas, plus one in Nebraska.
