Gypsum man dies in one-vehicle crash

A one-vehicle fatality accident involving a 73-year-old Gypsum man occurred about noon Aug. 20 at 290th Road between Nighthawk and Mustang.

According to Marion County Sheriff Rob Craft, Richard G. Hoye, driving a blue 1995 Ford Crown Victoria passenger car, left the roadway to the south side of the road and struck the bridge.

?After striking the bridge, the vehicle came to rest on the west bank of the creek on the south side of the road,? Craft stated.

As a result of the accident, he said, Hoye was ejected and found outside the vehicle.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by Paige Hatcher, Marion County coroner.

No other occupants were in the vehicle, and no other details were available.
