Flint Hills artwork on display May 27 in Marion

Artists from around the area will have paintings of the Flint Hills on display from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, at the Elgin Hotel, 115 N. Third St., Marion. This annual gathering is one of the preview attractions to the Symphony in the Flint Hills concert, said Theresa Huffman, Marion County Economic Development director

The public is welcome to view the paintings and many faces of the Flint Hills through the eyes of area artists.

As in previous years, she said, paintings are auctioned off at the concert Saturday, June 13.

The Kansas City Symphony will be performing on the Doyle Creek Land and Cattle Company located between Florence and Strong City, south of Cedar Point. The site is in Chase County on privately owned ranchland about three miles southeast of Cedar Point.

More details about the auction June 13 will appear in a future edition.
