Fatality accident occurs north of Lincolnville

A driver was killed and a passenger injured in a one-vehicle crash just north of Lincolnville on May 27.

The Marion County Sheriff’s office responded at 12:45 p.m. in the 3100 block of U.S. Highway 56 and U.S. Highway 77, said Robert Craft, sheriff.

The 2011 Dodge pickup with the two occupants had left the roadway to the east side of the road and struck a concrete culvert. The pickup overturned after impact, he said.

The driver, Rebeca Rocca, 54, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, Martin Rocca, 55, was transported to Wichita for medical treatment, he said. Both people were from Decatur, Neb.

No other details were available at press time; however, the accident remains under investigation, Craft said.
