Dunback’s 20 too much for MHS boys

Wamego jumped all over the Marion High School boys basketball team in the first quarter of Thursday's 64-38 Warriors loss in the second round of the Trojan Classic.

Wamego led 17-7 after eight minutes, and led 36-13 at halftime.Wamego doubled up the Warriors 16-8 in the third quarter, but Marion found enough traction to roll off 15 points in the fourth.

?Eric Vogel scored 14 points, and Elliot Hett scored 8.

The MHS girls scored 54 points against top-seeded TMP, but the Warriors could not slow down either Kaylee Hoffman (26 points) or Rachel Jacobs (22 points). Julia Zeiner totaled 17 for Marion, which was done in by a 24-8 TMP run during the second quarter?but TMP outscored the Warriors by just six points in the other three frames combined. Whitney Gordon and Lindsay Hett each scored seven, and Kayley Heerey finished with 13 points on a 3-for-7 shooting night from the 3-point perimeter.
