DEATHS: Alfred Thiessen

Alfred Thiessen, 90, retired farmer, died June 24 at Dallas, Texas.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 27, at Lafon?taine Christian Church in Lafon?taine, Kan., with pastor Lee Suderman officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Gnadenau Cemetery, rural Hills?boro.

He was born June 18, 1918, to Henry and Lydia (Jantz) Thiessen at Whitewater. On Oct. 3, 1948, he was married to Lucena Seibel, who survives in Garland, Texas.

He also is survived by a son, Larry of Galva; two daughters, Judy Wolfe of Newton and Carol Sachse of Garland; two brothers, Dan and Edwin, both of Indepen?dence; a sister, Elfrieda Howard of Independence; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Family will receive guests from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 26, at Jost Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Condolences may be sent to the family via jost@jostfuneralhome.com.
