Maxine Svitak, 82, co-owner and operator of a grocery store and service station in Pilsen, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29 at the St. John Nepomucene Church at Pilsen. Rosary was held at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28 at Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm, Marion.
Burial followed at the Pilsen Cemetery.
She was born Dec. 28, 1925 to Fred and Alice Hammer Schimpf on a farm near Antelope. On Aug. 14, 1945, she was married to Peter Silhan, who predeceased her in 1950. On Oct. 5, 1953 she was married to Frank Svitak, who predeceased her in 1995.
She is survived by her brother George Schimpf of Peabody; three children, Terry and wife Kathy Silhan of Pilsen, Christy and husband Wes Heibert of Newton and Frank Lee Svitak of Pilsen; an aunt Clara Bredemeier of Marion; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with the Father Kapuan Guild at Pilsen in care of Zeiner Funeral Home.
