Marie Klassen Wiens, 87, formerly with the Mennonite Central Committee, died Saturday, May 23, in Hillsboro.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 30, at the Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church, 300 S. Prairie Pt., Hillsboro.
She was born July 9, 1921, to Henry and Katherina (Fast) Klassen in Rosenhof, a small village in the Mennonite Slavgorod settlement in Siberia, Russia. In 1948, she was married to Frank Wiens, who predeceased her.
Survivors include children Glenn Wiens and Rebecca Penner, both of Wichita, Marcia Wiens of Boulder, Colo., and Miriam Holmes of Louisville, Colo.; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
