Laura (Schmidt) Flam?ing, 84, of North New?ton, former co-partner in the family farm and former owner and operator of the Quilt Shop, died Feb. 22.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 6, at Alexanderwohl Men?no?nite Church, 1304 Kansas Highway 15, Goessel. Visi?ta?tion is from 6-8 p.m. Satur?day, March 5, also at Alexanderwohl Church.
She was born July 12, 1931, to Ernst and Ella Schmidt at Goessel. On May 2, 1950, she was married to Randolf Flaming, who predeceased her.
Survivors include siblings Darlene Thiessen of McPherson, Melvin and wife Charlotte Schmidt of Hyattsville, Md., DeVera Wenger of Beaverton, Ore., and DuMont and wife Barbara Schmidt of Blue Mound, Wis.; children Ron and wife Patrice of North Newton, Dwight and wife Tammy Flaming of Goessel and Charlotte and husband Brian Warkentine of Chandler, Okla.; daughter-in-law Cheryl Flaming of Hesston; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and other in-laws, nieces and nephews.
