James W. " Bill" Pickering, 64, former teacher, coach and employee with Marion School District, died July 22 at his home in Marion.
Services will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday, July 26, at Marion Presbyterian Church with pastor Jeremiah Lange officiating. Burial will be in Marion Cemetery. Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Zeiner Funeral Home of Marion.
He was born Aug. 13, 1944, and raised by his grandparents, Otice and Georgia Vest in Eureka. On Sept. 2, 1967, he married Margaret Parks, who survives.
Other survivors include daughter Ashlee Pickering of Wichita; half-sisters Sheila and Dan Shue of Eureka and Debbie and Rick Hall of Humboldt.
