DEATH: Harry Friesen

Harry Friesen, 85, missionary, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, at St. Luke Hospital in Marion.

The service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church, Hillsboro, with pastor Steve Schroeder officiating. A private burial is planned for family.

He was born Sept. 30, 1923, to Jacob F. and Margaret (Isaac) Friesen at Meade. On June 1, 1945, he was married to Millie Brenner, who survives.

He also is survived by two sons, Steven of Newton and Phil of Concord, Calif.; four daughters, Marilyn of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Grace Steele of Tyler, Texas, Joyce Herrington of Krasnoder, Russia, and Debbie Phillips of Powlett, Texas; two sisters, Lena Friesen and Ann Wiens, both of Reedley; 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive guests from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, at Jost Funeral Home, Hillsboro. Condolences may be sent to the family via jost@jostfuneralhome.com.

A memorial fund has been established with Mennonite Brethren Missions Services International.
