DEATH: Fern Vogt Unruh, 99

Fern Vogt Unruh, 99, died Jan. 26, at Salem Home in Hillsboro.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at Hillsboro United Methodist Church, 905 East D Street, Hillsboro.

Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

She was born Sept. 23, 1914 to Walter and Iva (Philips) Newton at Cowgill, Mo. On June 30, 1935, she was married to John F. Vogt , who predeceased her in 1973.

On March 25, 1990, she was married to Herbert Unruh, who predeceased her in 2004.

Survivors include daughter Joanne and husband Harvey Foyle of Emporia; daughter-in-law Karleen Vogt of Hillsboro; stepson, Jim and Shelly Unruh of Wichita; sister Betty Seibel of Peabody; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Hillsboro United Methodist Church and sent in care of Jost Funeral Home, P.O. Box 266, Hillsboro, KS 67063.
