DEATH: Everett H. Cress, 73

Everett H. Cress, 73, a cowboy, oil field roustabout and school bus driver, of Cedar Point, died April 15 at Golden Living Center in Cottonwood Falls.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19, at the First Christian Church, 335 W. Fifth St., Florence.

Burial will be at Griffith Cemetery in Cedar Point.

Visitation with family will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Zeiner Funeral Home of Marion.

He was born Aug. 28, 1940, to Jimmie B. and Zatha (Henricks) Cress at Florence. On July 9, 1961, he was married to Janet K. Whitcomb, who survives.

Other survivors include children Alan of Great Falls, Mont., Shannon and husband Randy Foster of Des Moines, Iowa; Shawna and husband David Goodwin of Douglass; Brandon and Sue Taylor of Pittsburg and Shealah and husband Dave West of Newton; sister Jeanice and husband Kenny Miller of Emporia; brother Jimmie and wife Joyce Eldon of Emporia; and K. Lynn and Lisa of Rogers, Ark.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Central Kansas Prison Ministry and sent in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm Street, Marion, KS 66861.
