DEATH: Abram Nicholas Claassen, 86

Abram Nicholas Claassen 86, formerly of Hillsboro, and a commercial construction superintendent, died Dec. 12 in Wichita.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday Dec. 17 at the First Church of the Nazarene, 1400 E. Kellogg Dr., Wichita.

Burial is at Maize Park Cemetery in Maize.

He was born May 25, 1928, to Abraham J. and Anna (Peters) Claassen at El Trebel, Durango Province, Mexico, where his parents migrated after leaving South Russia in 1925.

Survivors include his wife, Mary, of 31 years; sister Mary and husband Eldo Weins of Meade; children Steve and wife Nancy, Rodney and wife Sondra Claassen of Wichita and Stan Claassen of Colorado Springs, Colo.; stepchildren Lynne and husband Jay Shorney of Lewisville, Texas, and LuAnne and husband David Bixby of Boise Idaho; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one step great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene and sent in care of Broadway Mortuary, 1147 S. Broadway at Lincoln, Wichita, KS 67211.
