Correction: Water, electric rates in Marion could go up

In the Dec. 17 edition of the Free Press, possible increases in water and electric rates for Marion were incorrectly reported in the front page story, ?Dollar General Looking to Open a Store in Marion.? Contrary to our report, the city council will consider at its Dec, 22 meeting approving a utility rate increase on residential base electrical rates from $8 to $12. Regarding base rates for water, the increase would be from $26 to $30, and $3.75 to $5 for the first 1,000 gallons.
