Hillsboro will be the No. 1 seed in the Class 3A regional in Hillsboro on Monday and Tuesday, May 17-18. After splitting games with Haven on Tuesday, May 11, the Trojans will enter post-season play with a 19-1 mark, and will have a bye in the quarterfinal round. The Trojans? first game will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the semifinals against the winner of Southeast of Saline (No. 4 seed, 7-11) and Marion (No. 5 seed, 6-14). If the Trojans prevail in the semifinals, the championship game will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The SES-Marion game begins a 3 p.m.
On the other side of the bracket, No. 2 Sterling (11-9) will play No. 7 Herington (3-17) in one quarterfinal matchup on Monday, and No. 3 Ellsworth (10-10) will play No. 6 Ellinwood (5-15) in the other matchup. The winners of those two games will play on a different diamond than Hillsboro at 6:30 p.m. Monday. The quarterfinal games begin at 4:45 p.m.
