Tabor College ended its football season with a 38-7 loss at Kansas Wesleyan Saturday.

Preston McCorkle put up 219 rushing yards and led the Coyotes to their fifth win of the season.

?Our run defense just wasn?t very good,? coach Mike Gottsch said. ?You didn?t have to look too hard at stats to see what teams were doing with us on the ground?and to win in this conference, you have to be able to stop the run.?

K-State Sports Information/Scott Weaver<p>JuliAnne Chisholm shows her hitting form as she?s made the transition from an all-state performer in high school to a contributor on a nationally ranked Kansas State volleyball team. ?I definitely had the jitters in the beginning,? she said. ?Now it?s just my job and I love to do it.?

JuliAnne Chisholm is local proof that girlhood dreams can come true?that is, if you work hard to achieve that dream and are prepared to adjust it to fit your opportunities.

Just as she fantasized in her early years, the former three-sport standout at Hillsboro High School is contributing to a nationally recognized varsity sport at Kansas State University in her freshman year.

The Tabor College volleyball team wrapped up its season with a loss to Kansas Wesleyan on Thursday night at Salina.

Facing the Coyotes in the second round of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference post-season tournament without first-team all-conference outside hitter Taylor Lawrence, the Bluejays were overmatched from the start.

But behind a titanic defensive effort from Clancey Kelley in the back row, the Bluejays dialed up the pressure on the hosts deep into the first game of a three-game (21-30, 23-30, 16-30) defeat.
