Goessel-The Bluebird boys trounced Hamilton 69-14 on Tuesday.

A 16-2 run in the first quarter set the tone for the rout. Hamilton managed 10 points in the middle frames, and the fourth quarter held a 12-2 run in Goessel’s favor.

Brett Goerzen led Goessel with 14 points in a 4-for-4 effort from beyond the arc.

Jordan Voth went 5-for-5 from 2-point range and finished with 10 points. Nathan Ensz also scored 10 points.

Canton-Galva-The Eagle boys overcame 25 points from Bennington’s Tyrel Reed and closed out the regular season on Tuesday with a 54-51 win.

The CGHS girls won, 31-29.

Peabody-Burns-The Warriors swept Berean on Tuesday.

Behind 23 points from Jessi Hilliard, the girls overcame a 17-point effort from Cathryn Wiebe and grabbed a 61-42 win.

Derrick Simmonds scored 19 points and the boys won, 74-60.

Centre-In regional play on Thursday, the Cougar girls lost 52-38 at Hope.

The Lions took a 21-11 lead into halftime, but Centre forced the issue with a 10-7 run in the third.

But Hope slammed the door in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Cougars 24-17 in the final frame.

Brittany Owens scored 12 of her game-high 15 points in the fourth.

Haley Sill led the Lions with 14 points and Taylor Sly added 11.

On Tuesday, the boys lost a tightly played game at Hope, 52-46.

The Cougar boys trailed 32-24 at halftime, but rallied in the third quarter.

A 12-6 run had the visitors within two points at the start of the final period, but the Lions held on for the win.

Seth Jirak paced Centre with 13 points. James Weber had 10 points and 10 rebounds. Kevin Mueller also scored 10 points. Alfonse Klenda had eight points to go with 12 rebounds.
