Annabelle Bliss
Annabelle Bliss, 84, died Feb. 12 at Hillsboro Community Medical Center.
The service was held Feb. 15 at Hillsboro United Methodist Church with pastor Nancy Douglas officiating. Burial was at Haven of Rest Cemetery in rural Hillsboro.
She was born Sept. 9, 1922, to Frank Earl and Mary Ernestina (Block) Carter in Newton. On Oct. 13, 1941, she was married to Arnold Bliss, who died in 1997.
She is survived by a son-in-law, Jim Dalke of Hillsboro; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial has been established with Hillsboro United Methodist Church in care of Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
Betty Clegg
Betty L. Clegg, 83, died Feb. 18 in Lehigh.
The service is 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Olson’s Mortuary in Canton. Burial is at Lehigh Mennonite Cemetery.
She was born April 16, 1923, to John and Hazel Williams Smith in Newton. On March 31, 1943, she was married to Dale L. Clegg, who died in 2003.
She is survived by a son, Kevin of Lehigh; four daughters, Nancy Roland of Newton, Cheryl Hindman of Hutchinson, Catherine Kurczbuch of Sedgwick and Dalene Jost of Lehigh; a step-brother, Gene Entz of Newton; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Mary Lou Fitzmaurice
Anita “Mary Lou” Fitzmaurice, 58, died Feb. 13 in Lincolnville.
The service was held Feb. 14 at Lincolnville Cemetery with pastor Don Mashburn officiating.
She was born Aug. 25, 1948, to Harry and Betty (Wheeler) Joiner in Van Buren, Ark. On July 23, 1983, she was married to Joe Fitzmaurice, who survives in Lincolnville.
She is also survived by a son, Rollind “Sonny” Bohannan of Arkansas City; a daughter, Shelly (Bohannan) Oswald of Lincolnville; and four grandchildren.
Charles Green
Charles H. Green, 92, retired mechanic, died Feb. 18 at St. Luke Hospital in Marion.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Wichita.
He was born Oct. 1, 1914. He was married to Arlene, who died in 1996.
Cornie Koehn
Cornelius “Cornie” Koehn, 95, died Feb. 17 at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton, with family greeting from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Newton Bible Church with pastor Don Myers officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Garden of Memories in Newton.
He was born Feb. 22, 1911, to Agnes (Goertz) and Cornelius Koehn in Goessel. On April 16, 1937, he was married to Edna Dyck, who survives.
He is also survived by a daughter, Kathleen and Ron Baird of Spokane, Wash.; a daughter-in-law, Becky and Richard Hege of Newton; three brothers, Frank of Newton, John of rural Newton and Irwin of Blaine, Wash.; two sisters, Nellie Esau of Goessel and Martha Penner of Emporia; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step-grandsons and six step-great-grandchildren.
Memorials have been established with Newton Bible Church and New Tribes Mission.
