The exploits of Hillsboro High School senior Lucas Hamm on the football field this past fall resulted in two honors last week. TOP: Between the boys’ and girls basketball games against Collegiate on Tuesday night, Hamm was formally presented with his invitation to participate in the Kansas Shrine Bowl high school all-star game and associated events July 27-28 hosted by Fort Hays State. Local Shriner Ron Brown (center) participated in the presentation. ABOVE: The following day Hamm signed a letter of intent with Butler County College, perennially among the state’s junior-college powerhouses. Seated next to him are parents Jim and Myrna Hamm. Hillsboro High head football coach Len Coryea stands behind them.
