Marion officials break ground for building project

Members of the Marion-Florence USD 408 Board of Education pose for a photo at the groundbreaking ceremony held last Tuesday for its major facility addition. Board chair Rex Savage (far left) joked that the ceremony was actually a ground “chipping,” given the frigid temperatures. The project will include a new gymnasium, fine arts center and indoor swimming pool. Completion is scheduled for sometime in 2008.
