Eight sophomores and juniors from each of five Marion County High Schools gathered on the Tabor College campus Friday to hear about leadership and learning opportunities through The Apprentice Marion County program.
Planned by the 2006 graduation class of Leadership Marion County, the day-long event included a competition for a possible apprenticeship with a participating Marion County business.
The students formed eight teams of five students, one student from each participating high school if possible, and performed a variety of tasks that required ingenuity, teamwork and cooperation.
At the end of the day, eight students were chosen to participate in an internship with the businesses of their choice.
