Dorothy Kaub
Dorothy C. (Jones) Kaub, 78, died Jan. 10 in Holton.
The service was held Jan. 15 at Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion. Burial was at Marion Cemetery.
She was born April 17, 1928, to Earl and Rozell Jones near Oklahoma City, Okla. She was married to Gayle Kaub, who survives in Marion.
She is also survived by a son, Daniel of Fort Mohove, Ariz.; a daughter, Sharon Bohn of Leon; four grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Lewis Smith
Lewis R. Smith, 87, railway express worker, died Jan. 12 in Hillsboro.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday Jan. 20, at Jost Funeral home in Hillsboro. The service will be at 11 a.m. at Lehigh Mennonite Cemetery with pastor Gaylord Goertzen officiating.
He was born April 19, 1919, to Arch and Ola (Waller) Smith in Guthrie, Okla. On Oct. 27, 1939, he was married to Anna Martens, who survives in Hillsboro.
He is also survived by a daughter, Bonnie and Bob Swartzendruber of Plano, Texas; a brother, Harold of Wichita; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Hillsboro United Methodist Church.
Kaethe Warkentin
Kaethe Kasdorf Warkentin, 91, retired Tabor College professor, died Jan. 14 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
She was born Aug. 26, 1915, to Johann and Katharina (Klassen) Kasdorf, in Osterwick, Ukraine. On Sept. 3 , 1949, she was married to John W. Warkentin, who died in 1970.
She is survived by a son, John and Julie Warkentin of Wichita; a daughter, Sharon and Bruce Short of Rochester Hills, Mich.; a stepdaughter, Evelyn Delk of Hillsboro; two sisters, Susanna Feiste of Omaha, Neb., and Helena Neufeld of Burlington, Ontario; five grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 22 step-great-grandchildren and 18 step-great-great-grandchildren.
