Penner receives track award

Don Penner poses with wife Carolyn after being recognized as assistant track and field coach of the year by the Kansas Cross County and Track and Field Coaches Association for his work in the throwing events at Hillsboro High School. Penner received the award Saturday at KCCTFC luncheon following the organization’s annual clinic in Junction City. He has been assistant coach for head coach Dennis Boldt for 15 years and preceeded Boldt as head coach for 18 years. During his career, Penner has been an assistant track coach for 21 years and a head coach for 27 years.
