Bethel College awards academic scholarships to five area seniors

Five Marion County students have been awarded academic scholarships from Bethel College of North Newton for the 2007-08 academic year.

Goessel High School senior Garrett Hiebert has been awarded the Founders Academic Scholarship, valued at $34,400 over a four-year period. Hiebert’s parents are Ann and Myron Hiebert.

Goessel High School senior Brittany Dirksen and Hillsboro High School senior Lucas Hamm have been awarded the Dean’s Academic Scholarship, valued at $27,200 over a four-year period. Dirksen’s parents are Patricia and Ronald Dirksen. Hamm’s parents are James and Myrna Hamm.

Peabody Burns High School seinor Oliver Whitney has been awarded the Bethel Scholar Academic Scholarship, valued at $17,600 over a four-year period. Whitney’s parents are Ginger and Mark Whitney.

Hillsboro High School senior Alex Nuss has been awarded the Thresher’s Academic Scholarship, valued at $12,800 over a four-year period. Nuss’s parents are Becky and Dale Nuss.

Academic scholarships are based on grade-point average and college entrance exams.
