SENIOR SCRIBBLES

ORIGINALLY WRITTEN CINDY BAIZE
Physician Haris Zafar will visit the Hillsboro Senior Center at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, to perform hearing checks.

Two new board members will be elected for three-year terms at the monthly carry-in meal Dec. 20. Candidates are Ray Franz, Kathryn Heinrichs, Irma Koop, Eunice Matz and John Vogt. The Hillsboro High School ensemble Spirit-N-Celebration will also perform.

The defensive-driving classes have been rescheduled for 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 10 and 12 at a $10 fee. Call for reservations.

Beginning Jan. 1, full-pay prices for meals will increase to $4.75, an adjustment necessary to comply with the Older American Act. The suggested contribution for eligible, registered participants will remain at $2.75.

The center will be closed on Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Those who would like to begin receiving the monthly newsletter can call 947-2301 or stop by the center.

A big thank-you to our weekly volunteers.
