Marlys Plett, Hillsboro, qualified for the Boston Marathon with her performance at the Wichita Marathon in late October.
Plett won the women’s division for ages 50-54 by completing the 26.2-mile course in 3 hours, 36 minutes, 58 seconds, which was under the qualifying time for Boston.
Overall, she finished 90th in a field of 324 runners.
Also completing the race was Donna Spoonmoore of Hillsboro, who placed sixth in the women’s division for ages 40-44 in 4:19.08. She placed 196th overall.
