Centre FFA wins award at Chaparral

The Centre High School FFA chapter captured a first-place finish again this year at the Leadership School Nov. 9 at Chaparral High School.

The senior team finished first in parliamentary procedure and will advance to state competition in June.

Team members were Gloria Belton, Savannah Forsberg, Kristine Jirak, Julie Rziha, Jo Terwilliger and Allie Will.

Finishing second on the leadership information tests was the team of Belton, Heath Hill, Nellie hill, Jirak, Rziha and Sammi Seifert.

Finishing sixth was the senior ritual team of Belton, Andy Carlson, Nellie Hill, Jirak, Rhiza and Terwilliger.

Individually, Rziha placed first, Nellie Hill second and Jirak fifth.

Finishing first was the Greenhand ritual team of Zach Antoszyk, Jared Diepenbrock, Alex Hajek, Heath Hill, Seifert and Dallas Spooner.

Finishing second in parliamentary procedure was the Greenhand team of Shelby Deines, Diepenbrock, Hajek, Heath Hill, Seifert and Spooner.

Seifert was named master ritual president and Spooner named master ritual vice president. Spooner also placed fifth in the creed speaking contest.
