HHS FCCLA attends district meeting in Lyons

The Hillsboro High FCCLA chapter attended the Fall Leadership Academy in Lyons Oct. 25. The event was attended by 24 schools from the district with about 500 participants.

Michael Smith, national FCCLA president from Goodland High, was the keynote speaker. He challenged listeners to become more active in FCCLA by developing leadership skills and becoming more family focused.

HHS was recognized for its Hurricane Katrina Community Service Project.

Several HHS members were honored: Evana Holtsclaw, Kayla Letterman, Brittany Dies, Tara Simhiser, Tasha Hoffner, Becky Steketee, Stephanie Abbott, Joshua Elliott, and April Young.

Also attending were Jessica Allen, Viktoria Bichet, Jayme Claaassen, Katrina Muzyka, Nichole Carlson, Ben Steketee, Brittany Davis and Shakiva Smith as well as advisor Monica Leihy.
