HHS volleyball, cross-country boys qualify for state

Hillsboro High School qualified two more teams for state competition Saturday. The volleyball team (pictured above), 32-1 for the season and ranked second in Class 3A, swept all three of its matches at the sub-state tournament in Hillsboro to earn a ticket to Salina for the second time in three years. Meanwhile, running in wet, cold and windy conditions, the boys’ cross-country team (right photo) earned a ticket to Wamego on Saturday after claiming third place at the regional meet in Wichita.
