Sisters Vicki Hoffer of Marion (left) and Judi Burkett at Hesston lead the string of people who participated in Hillsboro Community Medical Center’s “Memory Walk” on Saturday morning. The two women were walking for their mother, who has Alzheimer’s disease. The $1,100 raised by the event will go toward fighting that debilitating condition. About 15 walkers participated. Marsha Setzkorn-Meyer, who helped coordinate the event on behalf of HCMC, said the event will return again next year, and she invites more people to participate.
