Steamy temperatures may have lowered the turnout for this year’s Marion County Fair, but those who endured the heat found plenty of activities to satisfy their pleasure pallet. These photos came from Wednesday’s opening night.

The Tampa Fire Department helped cool off at least one young fairgoer during the opening parade with a shockingly refreshing spray of water.

Savanna Batson, 9, of Latham, enjoys the mechanical-bull ride that was part of the interactive inflatables that were featured at this year’s fair.

A parade entry by Hillsboro Industries appears to be following the “Parallel Parking” sign along Main Street-but in an unconventional manner.

Mikeyyy the Clown entertains some curious boys along the parade route.
