Open house to honor Krauses

Roland and Marjorie Krause will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 13, at the Lorraine Avenue Mennonite Church, 655 S. Lorraine Ave., in Wichita.

The couple were married Aug. 16, 1946, at the Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church.

After finishing medical training in Kansas City and Wichita in 1954, the Krauses lived in Goessel for 13 years. Since 1967, they have lived in Wichita.

After his official retirement in 1985, the couple volunteered for Mennonite Central Committee for more than three years. This was followed by 10 years of service as a “locum tenens” physician for the Indian Health Service.

Their children are Pete Krause of Wichita, David and Suzanne Krause of Wichita, Tom and Judy Miller of Omaha, Neb., and Mark and Lori Krause of Minneapolis, Minn.

They have two grandsons.
