Carlson named KBCA top girls’ hoops coach

Becky Carlson, former Hillsboro High School girls’ basketball coach, was named last week the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association girls’ coach of the year for the 2005-06 season.

Carlson guided Iola High School to the Class 5A state title this spring in her first season at the helm.

Carlson was Hillsboro’s varsity girls’ coach the previous 21 seasons. She compiled a 333-149 career record at HHS, including 10 trips to the Class 3A state tournament and two state titles.
