New Mexico Athelete signs with TC

Tabor College has signed an New Mexico athlete for the women’s basketball program, according to head coach Rusty Allen.

Stephanie Silvas, a 5-foot-7 guard from Dexter, N.M., scored 1,500 career points and was named most valuable player and all district for four years.

Silvas was also a North-South all star selection in basketball and volleyball, and was named North-South 1A-2A’s most valuable player.

Dexter High School finished with a 22-7 record last season. For three years, they claimed the district championship and were regional qualifiers for four years.

“Stephanie had an outstanding high school career and has been very well coached,” Allen said. “She is quick and can score from all over the court. She is a hard worker both on the court and in the classroom. We are fortunate to sign her.”
