CVL West goes 1-2 at state tournament

The Cottonwood Valley West baseball team went 1-2 at the state tournament in Greensburg this weekend. CVL West lost to the host team 14-9 in the opener, then defeated Mid-Central 7-4 before losing to Wellington 8-2. To get to state, CVL West won the District 4 tournament in Great Bend July 12-17. The team defeated Golden Belt from Great Bend 6-2 in the first round, then lost to Mid Kansas 10-4, defeated Quivira 12-11, defeated Mid Kansas 18-7 and defeated Mid Kansas 22-5 to win the title.
