HRC plans camps for volleyball during July

The Hillsboro Recreation Commission will be hosting volleyball camps in July.

The camps will be directed by Sandy Arnold, Hillsboro High School volleyball coach, and Stephanie Sinclair, Hillsboro Middle School volleyball.

Cost of the camp is $25, which includes a camp T-shirt.

The youth camp is scheduled from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. July 17-21 at the HHS gym and is open to all USD 410 students entering grades 3-5 this fall. This camp will teach proper fundamentals, including passing, setting and serving, and address the dig and set.

The intermediate camp will run from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. July 17-21 at the HHS gymnasium and is open to USD students who be entering grades 6-8 this fall. This camp will teach proper and address offense and defense.

Registration deadline for both camps is July 7.

Campers should come dressed to play, including gym shoes. Knee pads and water bottles are recommended.
