Green to succeed Campbell at PMA clinic

ORIGINALLY WRITTEN
Rebecca Green would have been happy to work and live in Fredonia through retirement. But when the physician of the medical practice where she’d served retired, the physician assistant suddenly found herself without a clinic home.

The opportunity to move to Hillsboro and join physician Randal Claassen and the healthcare professionals at Hillsboro Family Practice Preferred Medical Associates group was just the opportunity Green was seeking.

“In smaller communities, people see you as their health care provider,” said Green, who said was delighted to find Hillsboro similar in size, and with a distinct sense of family and community connectedness that appealed to her.

“You know your patients, their families and friends. People greet you in the grocery store and around town. In a big city, you’re lost in the masses.”

Green’s arrival will compliment the family-oriented care provided by the Hillsboro clinic staff of 11, which has a combined total of 105 years experience in the practice.

While she’s sad to leave her Fredonia patients, co-workers and friends, at the same time Green says she looks forward to meeting, getting to know and caring for the people in Hillsboro. Being closer to her son and his family in Wichita is another bonus.

“I expect to work on building relationships and trust with my new patients and co-workers,” said Green, whose other loves include the outdoors and animals.

“My goal is to settle in Hillsboro and stay until retirement.”

Green will fill family practitioner Lorrie Campbell’s position in July.

To introduce Green to the Hillsboro community and say goodbye to Campbell, a public open house is scheduled from 4-6 p.m. Friday, July 21, at Hillsboro Family Practice Clinic, 508 S. Ash.
