Hillsboro Rec offering junior tennis camp July 17-21

The Hillsboro Recreation Commission is planning a junior tennis camp July 17-21.

Designed for aspiring players who have completed kindergarten through grade eight, the camp will be conducted on the tennis courts at the Hillsboro Sports Complex.

Children in grades K-3 will meet from 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. while players in grades four to eight will meet from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.

The camp will be instructed by Hillsboro High School tennis player Lora Andrews along with other high school tennis players.

Younger individuals will work on basic tennis fundamentals, strengthening hand/racket coordination, ball drills and fun games to help introduce them to the game of tennis.

Older campers will spend time working on fundamentals, drills, strategy and match play.

Cost for the camp is $20 per participant and includes a camp T-shirt. Deadline for registration is July 17.
