Goessel golfers end season at state meet in Winfield

The Goessel High School golf team concluded it season at the state tournament at Quail Ridge in Winfield Friday, May 19.

“We had a long-drawn out state golf meet because of two weather delays,” coach Greg Bontrager said. “But I’m pleased with the results.”

Zach Frey placed seventh among 89 golfers with a score of 87; Nate Ensz was 20th with a 91.

As a team, the Bluebirds placed seventh out of 12 teams.

Also competing for Goessel were Alex Drake (104), Cameron Voth (104), Derek Brown (105) and Jake Schrag (113).
