In the Hunt

ORIGINALLY WRITTEN
Children turned out in full force Saturday morning for the annual Hillsboro Kiwanis Club Easter Egg Hunt in Memorial Park. In the top photo, children sprint to gather the small, sweet treasures hidden in the grass. Once they’re discovered it takes calm nerves to gathering them in (bottom photo). Mike Ryan, who emceed the event, said about 200 plates of candy were distributed after the hunt was over-that’s about 40 more than a year ago. “We always make a few more plates than we think we need,” he said. “We definitely don’t want to run out. The candy was donated by local businesses. Each plate contained the name of a business that contributed, and families were asked to thank the businesses personally for their involvement.
