Centre FFA members compete in two contests

Centre FFA members particped in a two competions in recent days.

On April 3, members traveled to Great Bend to compete in the South Central District and Barton County Invitational Farm Management and Ag Sales CDEs.

Both teams won their events.

The Farm Management team consisted of Jeremy Kristek (second), Jackie Klenda (third) and Tad Remy (fifth) and Joseph Stroda. The Ag Sales team was Nellie Hill (first), Kristine Jirak (second), Julie Rziha (seventh) and Tye Remy.

Twelve members traveled to Fort Scott March 31. Nathan Barney, Kacey Hanschu, Konley Harding and James Weber finished 10th in the freshmen livestock judging competition.

Alfonse Klenda competed in livestock judging and finished with a good score. Jackie Klenda finished third in Senior Public Speaking and won the Farm Management contest.

Other public speakers were: Nellie Hill and Kristine Jirak, senior division; Gloria Belton and Jo Terwilliger, junior division; and Julie Rziha, sophomore division. Alisha Barney competed in the Dairy Foods CDE.
