Jarrod and Michelle Hajek Truman of Valley Center announce the birth of a son, Derek Michael Truman, at 5:59 p.m., Feb. 17, in Via Christi-St. Joseph Hospital, Wichita.
He weighed 9 pounds, 6 ounces and was 211/2 inches long. He has a brother, Tyler James, 21/2.
Maternal grandparents are Gary and Vickie Hajek of Lost Springs. Paternal grandparents are Peggy Wilson of Wichita and Jet and Vicki Truman of Valley Center.
Great-grandparents are Ann Boese of Marion and the late Ezra Boese, Mildred Hajek of Lost Springs and the late Albert Hajek, Jim and Elizabeth Truman of Valley Center, Fred McHugh and the late Bonnie McHugh, and Ray and Pat King of Tyro, Ark.
