Lange installed as new pastor at Marion Presbyterian

Church members, friends from the community, relatives and representatives of the Presbytery of Southern Kansas gathered Sunday at the Marion Presbyterian Church for the installation of Jeremiah Lange as its pastor.

Christopher Davis, pastor of the Forest Park Presbyterian Church, Hutchinson, presided over the call to worship, pastoral prayer and the Lord’s Prayer. Pastor Keith Allison delivered the sermon.

Dwight Beckham played a trumpet solo and the men’s chorus sang two selections. Pat Black, elder from Newton’s St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church, gave the prayer of dedication and led the doxology.

The responsive reading was led by Melissa Ramos, associate pastor of the Covenant Presbyterian Church, Wichita.

Mike Lange, father of Jeremiah Lange, gave the tribute-sending message from their home church, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Tucson, Ariz.

Don Owens, Wichita, past moderator of Presbytery of Southern Kansas, presided over the installation. Jim Assink, clerk of session, assisted.

After the service, a reception was held in the Fellowship Hall. Janis Maggard, chairperson of the worship committee, presented a white clerical stole to Jeremiah as a gift from his parishioners.
