Pearl Loucks, 91
Pearl Sadie Loucks, 91, homemaker and bookkeeper, died Feb. 23 at Coldwater.
The funeral service was at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Protection Mennonite Church. Burial was at Protection Mennonite Cemetery south of town.
She was born June 21, 1914, to Jonathan and Fanny Jantz Koehn on a farm southwest of Protection.
On June 6, 1937, she was married to Vernon L. Loucks, who predeceased her in 1995.
She is survived by two sons, Orlin Loucks and wife Eudora of Protection, and Lynn Loucks and wife Karen of North Newton; one daughter, Marlene Loucks Vargas of Chicago; two sisters, Marjorie Dirks of Montezuma and Madesta Giesbrecht and husband Milton of Montezuma; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorials have been established at Protection Mennonite Church and Protection Valley Manor in care of Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home of Coldwater.
Mark Roberts, 69
Mark K. Roberts, 69, writer, died Feb. 17 in Tampa.
The service was held Feb. 23 at St. Phillips Catholic Church in Hope with Father Mark Wesley officiating. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Tampa.
He was born Aug. 12, 1936, to Charles and Irene Hackler Busch in Wichita.
He is survived by several cousins.
