Lee Beaston, 94
Lee Beaston, 94, retired meatcutter, died Jan. 12 in Odessa, Texas.
The service was held Jan. 17 at Marion Cemetery, officiated by pastor Phil Smith.
He was born Oct. 10, 1911, to Harry and Annie Snyder Beaston of Marion. In 1935 he was married to Ruby Mills, who predeceased him in 1984.
He is survived by a son, Tom Beaston of Eastsound, Wash.; one grandchild and four great-grandchildren.
Jip Brunner, 68
James M. “Jip” Brunner, 68, heavy equipment operator, died Jan. 13 in Ramona.
The service will be at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 18, at Lewis Cemetery in Ramona with pastor Eugene Hicks officiating.
He was born Jan. 27, 1937, to Solomon Brunner and Hanna Longhofer in Ramona.
He is survived by two sons, Jayme Brunner of Ramona and Joey Brunner of Pilsen; a brother, Omer Brunner of Owasso, Okla.; three sisters, Neva Applegate of Weslaco, Texas, Joan Gillett of Casper, Wyo., and Karen Mowat of Marion; and five grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Ramona City Park.
Duane Flaming, 60
Duane S. Flaming, 60, died Jan. 14 in Kansas City, Mo.
The service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 18, at Heritage Funeral Home in Parkville, Mo.
He was born Feb. 4, 1945, to Jacob G. and Elsie (Schmidt) Flaming and was a member of the Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in Goessel.
He is survived by wife JoAnne of Kansas City; two daughters, Reven and husband David Bronson of Overland Park and Hilary Flaming of Eugene, Ore.; a step-daughter, Josie Kern of Kansas City; a brother, Pete and wife Marilyn Flaming of Goessel; a sister, Kathleen Flaming of McPherson; a sister-in-law, Glendene Flaming Schmidt of Wichita; and one grandson.
Dorothy Nice, 91
Dorothy Lillian Smith Nice, 91, retired nursing home administrator, died Jan. 13 in Marion.
The service was Jan. 16 at Eastmoor United Methodist Church in Marion. Burial was at Marion Cemetery.
She was born Jan. 30, 1914, to Dollie Throne Smith and Arthur Smith near Hennessey in Kingfisher County, Okla. In 1933, she was married to Willard Nice, who predeceased her in 1996.
She is survived by a son, Wilfred and wife Wilma Nice of Marion; a daughter, Norma and husband Jerry Kline of Marion; a brother, Glenn Smith of Kimball, Neb.; a sister, Mildred Toepfer of Crescent, Okla.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Eastmoor United Methodist Church.
