Marjorie Hansen, 84

Marjorie Ida Merriam Hansen, 84, died Dec. 27 at Lakewood Senior Living in Wichita.

The service was held Dec. 30 at Baker Funeral Home in Peabody. Burial was in Prairie Lawn Cemetery.

She was born Feb. 24, 1921, to Jim and Maude Hess in rural Peabody. In 1941 she was married to Adelbert Bernard Hansen, who predeceased her in 1987.

She is survived by two sons, Tom and wife Pat of Wichita and Bernie and wife Donelyn of Wamego; a sister, Evelyn and husband Virgil Obermeyer of Peabody; a sister-in-law, Audrey Hess of Newton; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Elmer Schmidt, 87

Elmer Schmidt, 87, farmer and carpenter, died dec. 24 at Hutchinson Hospital.

The service was held Dec. 27 at Tabor Mennonite Church in rural Goessel with pastor Corey Miller officiating. Burial was at Tabor Mennonite Church Cemetery.

He was born Dec. 29, 1917, to Jacob H. and Helena (Nickel) Schmidt in Marion County. In 1948 he was married to Elsie Boese, who survives in rural Goessel.

He is also survived by a son, Glen and wife Marie Schmidt of Salt Lake City, Utah; two daughters, Janice and husband Joel Worthington of Excelsior, Minn., and Diana and husband Gary Roberts of Conway, Ark.; and five grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with Mennonite Disaster Service.

Emma Redger, 101

Emma Redger, 101, died Dec. 30 at Bethesda Home in Goessel.

The service was held Jan. 2 at Miller Funeral Home in Goessel with Chaplain Walt Friesen officiating. Burial was in Peace Valley Cemetery in rural Durham.

She was born Aug. 9, 1904, to Henry and Eva (Koehn) Redger in Marion County.

She is survived by nieces and a nephew.

A memorial has been established with Bethesda Home.
