Amid the hustle and bustle of these last few days before Christmas, don’t forget to return your mail-in ballot regarding the location of a casino in Marion County by noon, Dec. 22. Ballots returned by mail must be to sent in time to reach the courthouse by the deadline. Ballots returned in person must be returned by the persons casting the ballots. A friend or family member cannot return them for you.
The question on the ballot is: “Would you support a destination casino in Marion County?” The question is not “Do you think a casino would be located in Marion County even if the referendum passes?” or “Do you think Bob Knight is using this election to apply political pressure elsewhere?” or even “Do you think this election is a waste of taxpayer money?”
The commissioners have asked for a straight up yes or no on a casino itself. Give them one.
