Hillsboro Middle School students donate $1,500 to hurricane relief

ORIGINALLY WRITTEN
As part of this year’s annual fund-raiser, Hillsboro Middle School students (pictured above) decided to donate a percentage of their profit to hurricane relief. The students, together with the HMS Site Based Council, which sponsors the fund-raiser, decided to designate $1,500 for Eastlawn Elementary School in Pascagoula, Miss. “This school lost almost everything in the flooding,” said Corey Burton, HMS principal. “The principal indicated that the school had almost 4 feet of water throughout their building. So everything below that level was destroyed. Our students have decided to donate money toward teacher supplies. Teacher will be allowed access to the donated funds to purchase teaching supplies that were lost.”
